ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: Andrea Wagner

May 8, 2013 by Valerie

The Artisan Group is proud to announce today’s Artist Spotlight Feature is Andrea Wagner of Andrea Designs!

We caught up with Andrea and asked her a few questions about her knitted designs, and her experiences so far working with TAG. Here’s what she said:

Tell us a little bit about your shoppe.

My shoppe name is Andrea Designs. I am an artisan that loves to play with fiber to create unique knitted and crocheted scarves, shawls, headband, fingerless gloves, accessories and more. Besides using different types of yarns, such as Peruvian alpaca, Cashmere, French angora, French and Italian acrylic, wool and in summer cotton, I incorporate sequins, buttons, beads, silk flowers to these creations, to give them that special one-of- a kind element. Also, I have scarves that are done with one type of material and color and still they are beautiful, they are made with You in mind. My scarves and shawls are not boring, they are fun and add PIZZAZZ to any wardrobe.

What is your favorite product from your shoppe and why?
Right now my favorite product is a scarf, I named it “THE ROMANCE”, I like to put names to my creations, is made of 5 different types of yarn, one of them was handspun and the others were Peruvian alpaca and two metallic glitter yarn, I finished the borders using a crochet, and to give the unique touch I added buttons, sequins, silk flowers and lace. It is very soft and warm.
When you’re not knitting and crocheting such lovely scarves and accessories, what are your hobbies?

Reading, traveling, shopping, watching TV, surfing the net, walking in the woods with my little Min Pin, do puzzles, when I have time or want to get out of my system the knitting/crocheting thing. I love to play Mahjong; I have a lot of them in my computer, or go to the Discovery Channel web for the puzzle pictures, they have ton of them. I also like to go to Polyvore to create collages.

What do you like best about The Artisan Group?

What I like best about The Artisan Group is the kind of exposure and opportunities my shoppe and creations will have when I may participate in a display opportunity such as The CMAs event for example. Also, the continue learning what, where, and how to conduct my business, the opinions, experiences of other members, the TEAM atmosphere, the people helping other people and the leadership.

Great article on someone who selflessly gives to help promote other artists. That scarf is gorgeous, but my favorite is Camillia in Gold. Congrats Andrea.
